Micromax Canvas Fire A093 With Android 4.4 KitKat Reportedly Launched at Rs. 6,299

micromax_canvas_fire_a093_mahesh_telecom.jpg

Micromax seems set to launch a new Android-based smartphone in India, the Micromax Canvas Fire A093. The phone has been announced as 'available now' by an established retailer. So far, no official announcement about the phone has been made by Micromax.
Announcing a price of Rs. 6,299, mobile retailer Mahesh Telecom on Wednesday tweeted some specifications of the Canvas Fire A093.
According to the tweet and its accompanying images, the dual-SIM Micromax Canvas Fire A093 runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat, features a 4-inch WVGA (480x800 pixel) display, along with an unspecified quad-core processor, and what appears to be 4GB of built-in storage along with expandability via microSD card (up to 32GB).

Also onboard the yet-to-be-announced Micromax Canvas Fire A093, according to the tweet, is a 5-megapixel rear-facing fixed focus camera with flash, and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. Not much else is decipherable from the tweeted specifications image, apart from WCDMA connectivity for 3G. As seen from the image of the phone, the device will probably feature stereo speakers, above and below the display.
Earlier this week, another unannounced Micromax smartphone (the A190) was doing the rounds of the Internet. In that case the source of the news was reported tipster MMXNewscaster, not a retailer.
The alleged Micromax A190 is also said to run on Android 4.4 KitKat, and pack a 5-inch HD display, 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera, 2-megapixel front camera, 8GB built-in storage, 1GB of RAM, and 2000mAh battery.
Notably, the leak suggests that the rumoured Micromax A190 will be backed by a 1.5GHz hexa-core MediaTek (MT6591) processor, which if true, will be the first smartphone in the company's line-up to be powered by a hexa-core processor.
Further, the tipster claimed that the alleged Micromax A190 will be available in Black and White colour variants. There are some leaked press renders of the alleged Micromax A190 which show the handset in its full glory.

NOKIA RELEASED ANDROID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nokia's low-end Android phone expected later this month

Nokia will introduce a new low-end handset that uses Google's Android mobile operating system later this month in Barcelona at the Mobile World Congress trade show, according to a report on Monday from The Wall Street Journal.
Nokia has been rumored for months to be working on a device that uses the open sourceAndroid operating system. The phone, which is aimed at developing markets, will be a low-end, inexpensive device. According to various news reports, the device will not be able to access the Google Play application store. Instead, it will run services created by Nokia and Microsoft, including Here maps and Mix Radio. Nokia will offer its own application store for the phone that will offer access to popular Android apps, such as Skype, Facebook, Twitter, and many others.
The device code-named Normandy, may go by the name Nokia X, when it's released. According to reports, the phone will offer a dual-core 1GHz Snapdragon processor, a 4-inch WVGA screen, 512MB of memory, 4GB of storage, and a microSD card slot. It's expected to be available in a choice of six colors, and it will reportedly include a 5MP camera, a 1,500mAh battery, and a dual-SIM setup.
Nokia is scheduled to hold a press conference in Barcelona at the MWC trade show on Monday, February 24. It's believed the phone will be shown off at this event, according to the Journal.
Addressing the low-end smartphone market
The strategy to use the Android operating system is similar to how Amazon has used the OS for its Kindle tablet, the Kindle Fire. Amazon also used the open source software as a basis for its device, but it does not provide access to the Google Play store or many of the made for Google Android apps that are available.
According to several reports, this is the same way that Nokia will use Android for its new low-end phones.
Three years ago Nokia abandoned its home-grown smartphone OS, called Symbian, in favor of using Microsoft's Windows Phoneoperating system. The company uses this software in its Lumia product line, which has a mix of high-end, mid-range, and even some low-end devices. Nokia has seen modest success with Windows Phone and the Lumia brand.
Last year, Microsoft agreed to buy Nokia's devices and services business for $7.4 billion. The deal is expected to close within the first half of this year.
Even though Nokia has used Windows Phone exclusively for its high-end smartphones, the company has used a different OS to address many developing markets, such as India. The company has developed a separate product line called Asha, which replaces its old Series 40 devices. The devices use a homegrown OS that looks similar to the now retired Symbian operating system.

BEST ROM FOR HTC ONE###

[ROM] 4.4 | 05/12 | CM11 Beta for HTC One | Latest Gapps, SU, Busybox pre-installed

Beta version of CyanogenMod 11 for HTC One. Google apps pre-installed, rooted ROM and BusyBox installed!
THIS IS AN UNOFFICIAL CYANOGENMOD ROM

What is Cyanogenmod:

CyanogenMod is an open source replacement distribution for smartphones and tablet computers based on the Android mobile operating system. It is developed as free and open source software based on the official releases of Android by Google, with added original and third-party code. It offers features and options not found in the official firmware distributed by mobile device vendors.

What is the aim of this ROM (and some other info):

The aim of my ROM is to provide updates as soon as code gets committed, remove features which aren't necessary, fix bugs, optimize the code and add my own features, like inbuilt IR app, OTA updates and more. Please don't ask for ETAs, I am studying in school (final year, ending in March) so I really can't provide exact release date for a particular build, at least not before March. I'll be trying my best to push out stuff as fast as I possibly could, however. I hope you guys enjoy using my ROM!

How to Root (and Unroot) the Samsung Galaxy Y Duos (S6102)

How to Root (and Unroot) the Samsung Galaxy Y Duos (S6102)

The Samsung Galaxy Y Duos is a dual-SIMMed newer sibling of the popular Galaxy Y and while there are any high-end features to write home about, it does suffice nicely for a entry-level device that has the major aspects Android covered.  The device sports  a 3.14-inch touchscreen display, an 832MHz CPU with 512MB RAM, and runs the age-old Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread firmware.  If you want to try something newer like ICS or even Jelly Bean on it, custom ROMs is the only way to go and to get there, you need to root the device and install a custom recovery on it.  Use the guide below to know how to root (and unroot if needed) the Galaxy Y Duos S6102.

I.  Before You Begin

1.  Back up everything you feel is important before you begin.
2.  Make sure you have charged your device to 75% or more before you begin.

II.  Necessary Downloads

1.  update.zip [File attached to this post]
2.  unroot.zip [File attached to this post]

III.  Rooting the Galaxy Y Duos

1.  Connect your device to your PC using a microUSB cable and copy the update.zip file you downloaded above to your SD card (Do not put it into any subfolders, just the main folder so the path is sdcard/update.zip).
2.  Power down your device and put it into recovery mode.  To do this, press and hold the Volume Up + Home + Power keys until you see the Samsung Galaxy Y logo and let them go after that.
3.  Use the Volume buttons to highlight “select update.zip from sdcard” and press the home button to select it.
4.  On the next screen, select update.zip, and then select Yes on the next screen.
5.  Once the flashing is done, go back to the main menu and reboot your device.
That’s it!  Your Galaxy Y Duos is now rooted!

IV.  Installing Custom Recovery

If you want to install a custom recovery which will help you flash custom ROMs and other files, go on ahead and use our guide.
If this procedure helped you please thank/donate to the original developers here.
